Three types of Influenza Vaccines:

(1) The Yearly Human Flu Vaccine,

(2) The Avian Flu H5N1 Vaccine, and

(3) A Future Pandemic Flu Vaccine

 

Yearly Human Flu Vaccine

Avian Flu H5N1

PRE-pandemic Vaccine

(H5N1 virus may or may not yield a pandemic virus)

A Future PANDEMIC FLU VACCINE (requires a new future pandemic virus)

15 micrograms (ug) per shot of each antigen (e.g., H3N2, H1N1, Flu B).

90 micrograms of H5N1:

USA Study 2005

Unknown

One shot  of vaccine needed

Two shots one month apart: USA study 2005

Adjuvant (e.g., alum)?
