CDC Announces Guidance on Smallpox Revaccination =
of
Eligible Persons on an "Out-The Door" As-Needed Basis

On January 14 the CDC posted on
their website a documented titled "Interim Guidance for Revaccination =
of
Eligible Persons who participated in the US Civilian Smallpox Preparedness =
and
Response Program".

is stated on page 6 of the 9 page document (http://emergency.cdc.gov/agents/smallpox/revaxmemo.asp
"After consideration of
available scientific evidence and the practical issues relevant to
pre-event vaccination, CDC recommends revaccination of volunteer responders
from the pre-event smallpox program on an as-needed, 'out-the-door'
basis.”Out-the-door basis is defined as receiving revaccination only
